Stage 7 – Eating

In this episode, Niel and Robbie talk about one of their favourite things, eating. What they eat, how often they eat, what’s their favourite Haribo.

Also they talk Tour Divide, GBDURO, Trans Alba and the North Cape Tarifa race

Plus, Niel gets stuff wrong. A joule is a force of 1N applied over a distance of 1M. He was actually explaining the definition of a kilocalorie (energy to raise 1l of water 1c). Still both definitions of energy though. And it’s efficiency and maximal oxygen uptake that indicate potential performance, although it is believed that there is an inverse relationship between VO2max and efficency (https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/12471319)

    Loving the podcasts. 😁
For me in my emergency pocket/food bag it’s jelly babies and fig rolls. I know I can go a long way on those if nessary!
Otherwise real food wherever possible and preferably savoury.
Looking forward to dotwatching the TCR.

Hi there Gill, sorry for the late reply, you’d think I was out riding my bike all the time or something. I do love jelly babies but I struggle with them in Dubai as they melt πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚. Now Fig Rolls, there’s a good one. I’ve never tried those riding. Might take some to Bulgaria with me for the start of the TCR.

Dotwatching is always fun. I may have a few surprises in there too πŸ™‚

      Niel
